A cross-disciplinary field, media studies uses techniques and theorists from sociology, cultural studies, anthropology, psychology, art theory, information theory, and economics. Media studies pioneers include Marshall McLuhan, Stuart Hall, Ien Ang and Jean Baudrillard.
