Produced to rival MGA's Bratz, the series has branched out into a popular ten-doll collection that is still in production today. The doll series was first introduced in the Christmas season of 2002, to compete with the Bratz dolls. It included three dolls (Barbie, Madison, and Chelsea) with different ethnicities and personalities, and a collection of extra fashions for each character. By the beginning of 2003, two more lines were in production, introducing another female character, Nolee, and four male dolls.
