The doll's distinguishing feature was her ability to shed tears from two tiny holes on either side of her nose when her stomach was squeezed after being filled with water from her drinking bottles. The doll was manufactured in both rubber and vinyl in a variety of sizes with various hair colors and jointed limbs. Another feature was her "rock-a-bye" eyes which slowly closed when the doll was laid horizontally and gently rocked. Tiny Tears was sold in a pink and white dress or romper with a bottle and a small bubble pipe that blew bubbles when filled with a soapy solution and inserted into the doll's open mouth.
