A new window will open and you'll be able to get yourself a real bargain.Charlotte Rhead (19 October 1885, Burslem – 6 November 1947) was a ceramics designer active in the 1920s and the 1930s in the Potteries area of Staffordshire. Charlotte was born into an artistic family, who at the beginning of the twentieth century were living in Fenton where she studied at Fenton School of Art. One of the firms which employed Charlotte Rhead was Burgess and Leigh of Middleport; their historic pottery has since changed name, but as at 2006 it is still working and can be visited - it is now known as the Burleigh pottery. Rhead is noted for her tube-lined designs. Her style was more traditional than that of Clarice Cliff and Susie Cooper, her contemporaries. Courtesy of Wikipedia
